I compiled some statistics based on data collected by my zabihah.com and salatomatic.com apps over the past 10 years (numbers don’t add up totally due to rounding, please cite me if you use this data).

US MOSQUES (1736 of 2253 mosques reported):

Separate prayer area for women (full barrier or separate room): 63% (2010: 66%)
No barrier in the main hall: 18%
Partial barrier in the main hall: 15% (2010: 12%)
No women’s accommodation at all: 4%
Women allowed to serve in mosque leadership: 84%
Women not allowed to serve in mosque leadership: 16%

CANADIAN MOSQUES (358 of 447 mosques reported):

Separate prayer area for women (full barrier or separate room): 72% (2010: 68%)
No barrier in the main hall: 7% (2010: 15%)
Partial barrier in the main hall: 13%
No women’s accommodation at all: 7% (2010: 3%)
Women allowed to serve in mosque leadership: 70% (2010: 80%)
Women not allowed to serve in mosque leadership: 30% (2010: 20%)
